RIVER WALK, YORKTOWN
York County is located on the Virginia Peninsula bordering James City County and Williamsburg to the east (Map).  It is one of the oldest counties in the U.S. and is one of the three points of the Historic Triange of Colonial Virginia.  The county seat is Yorktown where victory was won at the conclusion of the American Revolutionary War.

Charles City County is located west of Williamsburg (map).  Charles City County features some of the larger and older of the extant James River plantations along State Route 5. All are non-government-owned, and many of the houses and/or grounds are open daily to visitors.
